DETAILED SCHEDULE
5:30 PM
- STUDENTS SET UP PROJECTS IN CAFETERIA
- We will take students in as early as 5pm once they check in with front table.
- STUDENTS PRESENT PROJECTS TO JUDGES
- One Parent may escort students if needed.
- Students must be able to present projects alone to the best of their ability.
- Projects will be judged by grade only.
- One judge for the whole grade to keep it fair.
- Mad Science experiment tables will start at 6:15 in various classrooms/hallways for an hour for students and families to enjoy while they wait. Tables will include:
- Bubbling Potions - Discover the amazing properties of dry ice! A great review of the three states of matter in a fun way as kids learn what makes dry ice do different from regular ice. Kids will get to take a “dry ice shower” and see a bubbling potion created right before their eyes!
- Moving Motion - Children catapult into Newton's three laws of motion! They experiment with plastic eggs, cars and crash test dummies to see the real‐world effects of force, gravity, and inertia.
- Current Events - Kids will have an electrifying experience learning about currents, conductors and insulators. They will be fascinated by our plasma balls, and watch the Mad Scientist demonstrate the amazing properties of electricity with our Tesla Coil!
- To keep crowd down for judging families can now come back with their students or continue to enjoy experiment tables.
- Each grade will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner judges will pin top projects.
- All entries get a participation ribbon.
- Prizes and trophies for each winner will be awarded at 7:15.
- 1st place will get a telescope
- 2nd place will get a microscope
- 3rd place will get a science experiment kit
- Winners will be given a chance to give a short summary on their projects when given their awards. Projects will be pinned with ribbons after judging earlier as for others to notice the winning projects.

Please note that backboards are required, but can be super simple depending on the grade level.
Backboards are available if you cannot fund one just email [email protected].
We will send your child home with one ASAP.
Please advise grades Pre-K through 1st are encouraged to do simple models, collections or simple experiments.
We recommend grades 2nd-5th to do simple to more in depth experiments or working models.
Also we highly encourage grades 2nd-5th to use the scientific method, but it is not required.
Please read handbook below for more information, helpful step by step instructions, and guidelines, judging criteria and helpful resources.
If you need more help on a topic to pick we have info and videos of different ideas!
We know this is prime dinner time so we will have some food options for purchase and tables to eat at set up with chairs.
Thank you for letting your child be a scientist!
